State Bar Board of Directors, District 4
A year ago today, voting began for State Bar Director for District 4 (Houston). I had already been spreading the word about my campaign for nearly six weeks. I met so many attorneys, attended events, CLE programs, luncheons, brunches and was invited to speak to so many. The result? You elected me.
The better result? I made more friends than I could ever imagine. Over the past year, I have developed friendships that will last a lifetime. I have colleagues who refer cases to me and I refer to them. I run into you in airports, restaurants, courthouses, and on the streets of downtown. So…. very cool indeed.
This past year has been educational, trying, frustrating, fun, enjoyable, busy and amazing. While we cannot reach all of our goals in a flash, we have made great strides in working toward solutions.
I thank you for trusting me with this job. Even under the current worldwide circumstances, the State Bar continues to work remotely to meet the needs of our members.
Thank you Randy Sorrels and Larry McDougal for your strong leadership. I am honored to serve with you and so many other leaders.
